Rafael Núñez International Airport in Cartagena is one of Colombia’s key travel hubs, serving millions of domestic and international passengers each year. Node was engaged to analyze and enhance the Airport’s existing wayfinding system, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and efficiency across both arrivals and departures.

Our work focused on improving the passenger journey by identifying navigation challenges, inconsistencies in signage, and operational overlaps between domestic and international flows. Key recommendations included the introduction of standardized color-coded systems to clearly distinguish arrivals and departures, improved contrast for legibility, and enhanced guidance for baggage claim, customs, and ground transport.

By developing a cohesive visual language and structured directional system, the project lays the foundation for a seamless passenger experience, reducing stress while reinforcing the airport’s role as a welcoming gateway to the region.
